The Directorate General of Immigration of Indonesia Issues a New Policy on Visa Classification

The Directorate General of Immigration has simplified Indonesia’s visa classification from 133 to 110 indexes through the Ministerial Decree on Immigration and Corrections of 2025.

This policy was born out of an in-depth evaluation of visa applicants’ needs and aims to enhance the efficiency and relevance of immigration services in line with global developments.

Several key breakthroughs in this new policy include the issuance of the C7C visa for non-musical arts and cultural activities, the A1 visa for tourism, business, and short-term medical treatment for visa-exempt countries, and the B1 visa for visa-on-arrival applicants.

On the investment side, E28F and E28G visas are now available for foreign investors, including those planning to invest in the Nusantara Capital City.

In addition, the work visa indexes have been simplified from 31 to just 6 types, including the consolidation of 20 categories of expert work visas into the E23 index, as well as the introduction of two new indexes (E23U and E23V) for applicants sponsored by non-corporate institutions.

This simplification is expected to support national development and provide greater convenience for foreign nationals seeking to engage in legal activities in Indonesia.
